Quilts On Show
See two fabulous quilt exhibitions - both completely different, both will inspire you to start stitching. Collections is an art quilt exhibition from a small group of textile artists in Canberra, called tACTile. Their quilts and textile books will be shown - prepare to be awestruck by their beauty. Then for something fresh and fun see the quilts by Kathy Doughty that were featured in the Material Obsession books. |
Meet the Weekend Artist
If you fancy painting your own masterpiece, or just want to play with paint and colour but don't know where to start, make a beeline for the ART AREA. Specialising in super-simple techniques for painting your own canvases, Gerard Smith is the author of the book The Weekend Artist. Gerard will be demonstrating at 11am on Friday and Saturday, March 12-13, and his work will be on display each day of the expo.

Meet the designers and experts
Such as freeform knitter Prudence Mapstone, textile artist Cecile Whatman, owner of Scrapapple Stacey Rigby, quilt retailer Margaret Kirkby from Logan's Patchwork, Gai Taylor from Just Patchwork and Judy Hall from Punch with Judy are just some of the experts and exhibitors who will be on hand to show you the latest designs and techniques.
